La Guardia Costera de Estados Unidos (United States Coast Guard – USCG) ha publicado una alerta de seguridad relativa al combustible con un bajo contenido de azufre (ultra-low sulphur – ULS) y el cumplimiento con el requerimiento de MARPOL.

La alerta se centra en las prácticas que deben adoptarse para garantizar el cambio seguro de combustible tradicional a combustible ULS, como se requiere al entrar ya sea en las Áreas de Control de Emisiones de América del Norte o del Caribe de Estados Unidos (North American/US Caribbean Sea Emission Control Areas – ECAs).

The United States Coast Guard (USCG) has issued a Safety Alert, regarding ultra-low sulphur (ULS) fuel and compliance with MARPOL requirement.

The alert focuses on practices that should be adopted to ensure safe switching from traditional fuel to ULS fuel, as is required when entering either the North American or the US Caribbean Sea Emission Control Areas (ECAs).
